Dr. Jeff Garnas is an Associate Professor of Forest Ecosystem Health at the University of New Hampshire’s Department of Natural Resources and the Environment (NREN). His work focuses on the ecology and evolution of insect, fungi, and forest trees, particularly in the context of biological invasion.
Prior to arriving at UNH in 2016, Jeff was a faculty member at the University of Pretoria, South Africa for nearly 7 years where he studied global patterns of insect and fungal invasion, especially those of relevance to plantation forestry and native woody habitats. Jeff received an MSc from the University of Maine in 2005 and a PhD from Dartmouth College in 2009, both in Ecology and Evolution.
