Pulakesh Das

Dr. Pulakesh Das received his PhD degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India. He is currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the School of Forest Resources at the University of Maine in Dr. Parinaz Rahimzadeh’s Remote Sensing lab. Pulakesh holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics and a master’s degree in Remote Sensing and GIS from Vidyasagar University, India.

He specializes in the application of geoinformatics in environmental studies. His current research focuses on Eastern White Pine (EWP) health monitoring and studying the impact of climate change on EWP phenology using satellite remote sensing technology. Previously heworked at the World Resources Institute India and taught for two years at the Vidyasagar University, India. His Ph.D. research was focused on ecosystem resilience modeling and human disturbance’s impact study on land use practices. He has authored 45 peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters.
